Accessibility

Choose from the standard wand or a more accessible loop wand (patent-pending). Both wands can be operated with one hand and require less than 5 pounds of force^*, meeting the needs of users of all abilities. Manual lowering is also possible by pulling on the bottom bar without risk of damage to the system.

For projects requiring specific accessibility standards, we offer shades manufactured to be compatible with the applicable requirements in the US 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design and California Building Code Section 11B-309.4.

Chains and cords pose inherent safety and injury risks, especially for small children and the elderly. For the ideal sleep setting, you can pair an inside-mount sheer with an outside-mount blackout. On blackouts, we recommend a 6” overhang on each side of the window for optimal room-darkening.
