General FAQs

What is DermaTherapy®

DermaTherapy® is the first and only silk-like therapeutic linen system with FDA 510(k) clearance as a Class I medical device to reduce the risk of patients developing pressure injuries.

How does DermaTherapy® help reduce the risk of patients developing pressure injuries?

DermaTherapy® keeps the patient’s skin cooler, decreases metabolic demand, and reduces bioburden—a potential source of infection.

What makes DermaTherapy® different from other traditional textiles?

DermaTherapy® is woven with continuous filament yarns that are free of short, protruding fibers or pills that can create friction and cause irritation. The result is a silk-like sleep surface that is non-irritating and less traumatic to the patient’s skin.

Are specialty linens worth it?

Switching from all disposable products to a mix of reusable and disposable can save your organization money, reduce waste, and lower your environmental footprint. Studies have shown that compared to disposables, reusables are more comfortable, easier to use, and safer. A 2017 study in American Journal of Critical Care reported that silk-like linens last three times as long as cotton blend sheets.
