The Formula for High-Performance Fabrics: Alta Healthcare Technology

A variety of fabric swatches in several patterns and and stripes are stacked to show depth.

Standard Textile Interior’s is launching its second collection with Applied Textiles Alta™ Healthcare fabric technology. This award-winning, antimicrobial, water-based fabric technology with moisture barrier is designed to deliver the correct level of protection for each application, whether it’s lighter-duty administrative areas or heavy-duty and high-traffic areas such as lobbies, waiting rooms, or food and beverage concessions/dining rooms.

Stains Don’t Stand a Chance

Alta™ repellency technology improves the surface energy of the textile creating repellency to water and oil-based liquids, dust, and airborne particulates. The antimicrobial integrates with the Alta™ repellency to eliminate microbes, bacteria, fungus, and mold upon contact. The combination of Alta™ repellency and antimicrobial properties ensures a textile is highly cleanable, while reducing odors and microbes between cleanings.

Most generic stain finishes are topical, temporary, and will wash or wear off. Alta™ is bonded permanently to the fiber and will last the life of the fabric. Unbranded soil and stain can often make fabrics burn, Alta™ does just the opposite making fabrics meet the correct fire code.

EPA Registered Antimicrobial Fabric Technology

Alta™ antimicrobial technology combines high level repellency with a safe, EPA registered antimicrobial. Alta™ repellency technology improves the surface energy of the textile creating repellency to water and oil-based liquids, dust, and airborne particulates. The antimicrobial integrates with the Alta™ repellency to eliminate microbes, bacteria, fungus, and mold upon contact. The combination of Alta™ repellency and antimicrobial ensures a textile is highly cleanable, while reducing odors and microbes between cleanings.

Other benefits of Alta™ Healthcare include:

  • Comprised of 95% water and 5% custom Fluorine solution.
  • Antimicrobial and highly repellent, preventing liquids, and contaminants from absorbing into a textile of any fiber content.
  • Free of any solvents or VOCs (volatile organic compounds), PFOS, PFOA, formaldehyde, heavy metals or phthalates.
  • Utilizes less chemistry than many leading brands without compromising performance. After treatment there is 0.01% of an ounce of chemistry across 1 yard of fabric.
  • Can resist up to 100,000 double rubs.
  • Complies with EPA, CAL Prop 65 and REACH standards.

A Symphony of Patterns and Colors. See the Ensemble Collection.

Standard Textile Interiors Ensemble Collection offers four Alta™ finished fabric patterns– Homage, Sonata, Midsummer, and Avenue– with various colorways. Learn more about the new collection here.
